Two Layers, One Image
At this point in my project, I primarily focusedon ambiguous images. Ambiguous images are those that present different meanings whenviewed from different perspectives. They allow me to encapsulate multiple layers of information within a single visual.
By creating images that change when viewed upside down, I explore the possibilities of merging two distinct narratives into one picture.
I juxtapose the propaganda of the “Core Chinese Socialist Values” with images of political refugees and persecuted individuals. This approach damages the pristine image of Chinese society by presenting a more complex narrative.
