Electric Cherry is an electronic music band based in Chinese Mainland, established in 2022. Known for their experimental sound and dynamic stage presence, the band quickly gained recognition in the local music scene, with performances at major events such as the Aranya Xiami Music Festival in August 2022. In 2023, Electric Cherry released their single album “Departure,” a project that embodies themes of movement, self-discovery, and transition.
︎Project Scope
For the release of “Departure,” I was entrusted with designing the album cover, producing both a still and animated version that visually capture the essence of the album’s concept—being on the road. The visual direction aimed to reflect the band’s journey, blending elements of motion, exploration, and electronic aesthetics to create a compelling representation of their sound.
︎Design Approach
The cover design was inspired by the themes of travel and transition, incorporating dynamic visual elements such as road imagery, motion blur effects, and a futuristic color palette that resonates with the band’s electronic style. The still cover captures a sense of anticipation and movement, while the animated version enhances this narrative with subtle kinetic elements that bring the concept to life.

In this project, my role involved illustrating and editing the visuals for the album cover, including both still and animated versions. The design aimed to reflect the album’s core theme of “Departure,” emphasizing the concept of being on the road and capturing the band’s evolving journey through dynamic visuals.
